Etsy Reporting Portal
Summary: To keep Etsy’s marketplace trustworthy at scale, we built and launched a B2B tool in 2021 that allows intellectual property (IP) owners to seamlessly search and report IP infringement on our platform without relying on the limited resources of our internal agents and legal team.

Old experience:
Static form with outdated UI and hard-to-understand copy laden with technical jargon and legalese
Not secure since anyone could submit a report
Had to enter your contact and IP info every time you submitted a report
Could only manually copy and paste Etsy listing IDs/URLs into the form
Etsy’s legal and enforcement agents had to manage the massive volume of reports via email
New experience:
Dynamic experience with updated UI and clear, conversational copy in Etsy’s brand voice
Reporters are required to verify their email and identity
Can enter your contact and IP info once, then easily re-use it over and over again when submitting reports
Seamlessly add listings using a search UI that mirrors the search experience users have when shopping on Etsy
Agents can now manage all reports via the Etsy Reporting Portal
